A little history about Spirit of the Earth Church or SOTEC:
What we call Spirit of the Earth today began in 2004 with a few people who wanted to create a safe, caring, non-judgmental environment where Wiccans, Pagans, and other like-minded individuals could come together and worship. Since then we have grown and interest has grown. We saw the community’s need for more and the idea of creating a Wiccan Church was explored. Through many ebbs and flows, we came to the point where we decided that it was time to take the next step. We incorporated with the State of Kentucky as a Wiccan Church on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, 2008.
In early 2010 we aquired 5 acres of land (we are calling Cedar Grove) in Western Kentucky. We are now working to prepare Cedar Grove to become our Church headquarters. We invite you to join us as we continue our journey...
Our Vision:
Spirit of the Earth’s vision is to create an eclectic spiritual community that honors Nature in her many forms, provides education, fosters growth, and promotes interfaith education and dialogue within the greater community.
Our Purpose, Beliefs, and Commitments:
The Spirit of the Earth Church is a non profit Wiccan Church that believes in the Wiccan Rede “An’ it Harm None, Do as Thou Wilt” and promotes and provides structure to live by its teachings.
We believe in the Threefold Law. This law teaches us that anything we put out into the Universe will return to us three times as powerful, good or bad. Spirit of the Earth Church promotes and provides structure to live by its teachings.
We hold a deep respect for Nature in all of Her forms, and through that respect promote and provide Rituals that are linked to the seasonal cycles and the phases of the moon, for the greater community.
We strive to live in harmony with Nature in all of Her forms through promoting environmentally safer practices.
We promote and provide ministerial services to the greater community and a comprehensive training program for ministers in training.
We promote and provide a youth ministry for its members to teach youth the tenets of the Wiccan Rede, The Threefold Law, and a respect for Nature.
We believe in the power of community; our Church community as well as the greater community. We strive to give back to the community through charity work whenever possible.
Spirit of the Earth Church Inc. strives to acquire land and buildings for Church services and Church members.
